The Joint Action on increasing the capacity of National Focal Points (NFPs) – NFP4Health, funded under the European Public Health Programme, aims to enforce the network of National Focal Points and create sustainable actions to promote the achievement of the health objectives for the period 2021-2027.

The Joint Action is intended to provide equal opportunities to access to the EU4HEALTH Programme and to ensure complementary with other regional, national and EU policies, funds and programmes by developing and strengthening the capacities of NFPs in the participating countries. Additionally, JA NFP4Health will maximize efforts to leverage all available health funding to ensure accessibility and sustainability of the health systems. The Joint Action started on the 1st of October 2021 and the duration is set at 40 months.

National Focal Points provide an advisory system for those working at local level and are committed to create equitable participation in the EU Health Programme in all countries. In order to provide high quality services to potential applicants and project participants, NFPs should have a solid common knowledge of the rules and procedures of the European Public Health Programme. In addition, they should be knowledgeable of other initiatives available at both national/regional and European level that can complement or better adapt to the needs of national health communities.
