EU4Health is implemented by Annual Work Programmes supporting a broad range of actions that are clustered under four overarching “strands” with a cross-cutting focus on cancer:

  • Crisis preparedness
  • Health promotion & disease prevention
  • Health systems & healthcare workforce
  • Digital

 

The programme provides funding to eligible entities, health organisations and NGOs from EU countries, or non-EU countries associated to the programme.

Joint Actions

There are nine Joint Actions (JA) 2022, covering the following areas:

  • Implementation of AMR measures in Member States (pages 13 -15) – Budget: 50.000.000 €
  • Cancer and other NCDs prevention – action on health determinants (pages 18 -20) – Budget: 75.000.000 €
  • Prevention of NCDs – cardiovascular diseases and diabetes (pages 21 – 22) – Budget: 55.000.000 €
  • Contribution to the Cancer Inequalities Registry to monitor national cancer control policies (pages 54-56) – Budget: 1.000.000 €
  • Support ERNs integration to the national healthcare systems of Member States (pages 62 – 63) – Budget:11.200.000 €
  • Increasing capacity building of the EU medicines regulatory network (pages 68 – 69) – Budget: 8.000.000 €
  • Piloting a new model approach for assessing and authorising novel Blood, Tissues and Cells (BTC) preparation processes (pages 70 – 71) – Budget: 1.500.000 €
  • Reinforced market surveillance of medical devices and in vitro medical devices (pages 72 – 74) – Budget: 4.000.000 €
  • Preparatory actions for a European Health Data Space; primary use of data (for healthcare) and reuse of data (pages 81 – 82) – Budget: 4.000.000 €

 

Co-financing takes place through a direct grant procedure, i.e. without the publication of a notice. Therefore, to participate in a JA it is necessary to be designated by the competent authority of the EU Member State.
